Went here after seeing the good reviews and I must say the level or service and quality of food was amazing. The starters were mouth watering especially the pani puri fish and samosa. Left a very high expectation for main course which was good but the starters really topped it off. On top of that the service was very good and they were very polite and attentive. Shame on the location if it wasn’t were it was it would have more customers. I would recommend coming here if you are looking for a high quality Indian meal.

Best Indian food I've had in London!😋😋 The tokri chaat and champaran gosht are must-tries – absolutely delicious. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. That was a FANTASTIC Indian takeaway. Bag of poppadoms goes a long way so make sure there’s a few of you! The paneer makhani was an incredible dish, with such a heavy and thick sauce that was perfectly flavoured. Butter chicken was similar with a little more spice and that was perfect. Peshwari naan done to perfection too. So glad to have tried here and will come back soon!

I eat around quite often and appreciate when ever i had a good meal, usually one dish will be great but rest of the items will be flat to mention but HERE IN TOKRI , TO MY SURPRISE ALMOST EVERY TNING I HAD IS AMAZING, i can still remember the taste even after a week, perfectly fried ckicken lolipop, fish koliwada, amazing blend of spices in duck sheek kebab, soft and juicy steak like lamb chop, briyani and lamb rohanjosh . I popped in for a take away order on Saturday. Oh my goodness, the food was absolutely delicious! The flavour was incredible, everything about it was beautiful. It was ready within 5 mins of my order too. They have a small menu (different in the restaurant vs online) but it's wonderfully executed and reasonably priced for the quality. 10/10

My recent experience at Tokri was extremely disappointing, primarily due to the service. We had a reservation for 6:30 pm and expected a smooth and enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We waited an unbelievable 1 hour and 40 minutes for our mains, despite arriving before most of the other diners. To make matters worse, every other table was served before us, even though we had been seated first. We repeatedly asked the staff if our food was on the way, and despite assuring us it was, nothing came. When the food finally arrived at 8:30, the meal was delicious, but the painfully slow service overshadowed everything. On a brighter note, the gentleman in a suit who seated us—who I believe may be the head staff—was an absolute delight. He made us feel incredibly welcome and seen, offering the only positive touch to the evening. If you're looking for good food, you'll find it here, but the shockingly bad service makes it hard to recommend. For us, the delays ruined what should have been a lovely evening.

I’d Definitely recommend Tokri it's my first time trying this place it's definitely blown my mind with the delicious flavours and the food texture is honestly perfect I have to say your chef is very good ! I had ordered a huge meal for the family they all loved it especially if you like your Butter Chicken and your freshly made Nan bread made in their lovely tandoor definitely try this place it's the one! Ooo don't forget .... the Chilli Paneer it’s smashing ! If you love a little kick of spice. The kids loved your Tandoori Mix Grill, they are doing my head in for more so see you soon again your chef has definitely won the kids heart with the delicious flavours. Very up class restaurant it's definitely worth a try !!!!!! Decor is 5* Cleanliness 5* Customer service 5* Overal experience 5* Thank you guys for your hospitality at your lovely restaurant.

Overall we had a wonderful meal at Tokri. We made a booking and unfortunately were asked to come back half an hour later as the table was not available. Upon return, we had an excellent meal, some of the best food we’ve had for a long time, and the service was very good. The pani puri and tokri chana chaat were particularly good. The front of house gave us a discount and free dessert for the inconvenience and we left very content. We will certainly be returning in the future!

Takeaway order - CT Biriyani and Keema Naan were excellent. Look forward to eating in soon. Pleased I was able to kick off their Deliveroo reviews with top marks! *Edit - Having placed numerous orders via Deliveroo since, the food has been consistently excellent and I've rated it accordingly. In the interest of balance however, last night's order was poor. The chicken in the Kadai very dry, the lamb madras lacking in any flavour. Not helped by a less than satisfactory response from, I'm told, the Manager - where justification was it's Friday night and we're busy. Finally, not all dishes listed on the menu are available on Deliveroo and so because they were unable to deliver to me (despite this now being offered) I had to select the more expensive Deliveroo Kadai dish and then ring the restaurant to modify the choice of meat. I'd expect this from a run of the mill takeaway, not somewhere of the previous quality of Tokri. Left with the impression that regular custom means little but the quality of food drop off was more alarming.

We usually get a takeaway from here as we LOVE the food, but we decided to take a date night to visit the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. The food was EVEN more tasty and so so fresh. My partner and I visited Tokri last weekend after making a reservation, we had high expectations due to the positive reviews but we left feeling disappointed which is unfortunate as the food was really nice. We waited 15 minutes to receive menus and a further 45 minutes to have our orders taken despite asking. We were told this was because we were seated at a 4 person table, however our reservation was for 2. (We double checked this afterwards that we hadn't made an error). My partner ordered from the vegetarian set menu, however received chicken, and ended up eating our mains 1.5hrs after we arrived for our reservation. Our server was very apologetic, however it was disappointing as we then ended up eating our mains separately. They gave us 15% off for the inconvenience, but the service charge was 12.5%... Given how good the previous reviews are, we think this was just a set of unfortunate events that ended up falling upon us. While the food was nice and the staff were friendly, this was quite a disappointing meal and we'd be unlikely to return.

I was so excited for our first Valentine’s Day and booked a table two weeks in advance after reading great reviews. Sadly, the experience was nothing like what I expected. We arrived at 8:15 PM and ordered by 8:30 PM—two veg starters, mains, breads, and drinks. Other tables (mostly white guests) got their food in 15-20 minutes, but we waited almost an hour despite asking multiple times. It honestly felt like we were being ignored. My partner finally asked for the bill, and only then did the waiter rush to bring our food. But guess what? It was cold and missing the starters! They gave us a 30% discount but claimed we had excluded starters (which made no sense since they never even served them!). The food itself was delicious, but the way we were treated really ruined the night. It was supposed to be special, but we left feeling frustrated and unimportant. Would I go back? Nope. Good food doesn’t excuse bad service.

Would we return? Unlikely—good food doesn’t make up for bad service, especially when it makes guests feel unwelcome. My partner and I were excited to visit Tokri Restaurant for our first Valentine’s Day together. After reading glowing reviews on Google, my partner made a reservation two weeks in advance, expecting a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, our evening was marred by poor service and a disappointing treatment. We arrived at 8:15 PM and placed our order at 8:30 PM—two vegetarian starters, two vegetarian mains, breads, and drinks. As we waited, we noticed that other diners received their meals within 15-20 minutes. However, we were left waiting for nearly an hour, despite multiple follow-ups with the staff. It felt like we were being ignored, which was extremely disheartening. Frustrated, my partner eventually asked for the bill, at which point the waiter hurriedly reassured us that our food was coming. When the food finally arrived, it was only the main courses, and they were cold, as if they had been prepared much earlier and left waiting. To make matters worse, the restaurant claimed that we had "excluded" the starters from our order—even though we never received them in the first place. Their attempt at compensation was a 30% discount, but it did little to make up for the way we were treated. To be fair, the food itself was tasty and well-prepared, but the service left a lasting negative impression. This was supposed to be a special night, yet we felt discriminated against and neglected. We expected better hospitality, especially from a restaurant with such positive reviews.

If Michelin starred chef recommends it must be good, right? Well it is, very good. The food was delicious. Service was attentive. A very understated looking neighbourhood Indian restaurant but it is first class.

Loved our experience dining at Tokri! Mr. Nithin was such a gracious host, who went beyond his means to accommodate our requests and also celebrate another guests birthday at the restaurant, even though it wasn’t asked for - it’s these small gestures that sets them apart for their impeccable service. Loved the food - especially the nawabi murgh. Very authentic Indian flavors and loved the music and vibes too! Will be visiting again for sure ✨

Had chicken Vindaloo from here last night (7/3/25). Not impressed at all. Not to be harsh but it was less than mediocre vindaloo. Such overpowering taste of (?)cinnamon and surprisingly slight sweetness to it as well which is so not Vindaloo. Not impressed by the taste at all.

Great food, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Would recommend the Lamb kudai and palak makhani together. Lost points on atmosphere because of the constant Deliveroo drivers, in and out. The head server was communicating as much as he could with the drivers to not come in and to wait outside, which we appreciated (particularly being close to the door). Apart from that, we would definitely recommended and come back.

Wonderful place, we came for iftar and Nitin and Ruhail were so accommodating ensuring the food was warm and that we had dates to break our fast. The tokri chaat was my favourite, all dishes were well made, good portions and authentic in taste - being south Asian myself it felt like home. Felt like a community restaurant located in a quieter part of Acton.

came here soon after it opened, having seen angela hartnett recommend it on topjaw. the food was decent, the highlights were the aloo tokri chaat, which comes in this cool edible bowl made of sev, and the duck sheekh kebabs, which is served with this really nice pineapple chutney. the rest of the starters and curries were okay and quite pricey for fairly run of the mill indian curry house food. service was also very slow given there was only one other group and very few takeaways.

I went here with my girlfriend and want to say that the food was absolutely stunning but to say the least what the point in all that when you have a manager who is so rude no smile and as soon he takes our order and walks away. We asked him something about the vegetarian options clearly looked at us, got distracted by another staff and walks away and doesn’t apologise throughout the visit. Atmosphere was beautiful inside but we were put off with the service so won’t be coming here again and funny thing is we live 2 minute walk away. Terrible.

Tokri in Acton Town is a delightful spot for Indian cuisine, offering a menu that got food that is authentic and flavourful. The restaurant's namesake, the Tokri Chaat, is a standout. Served in a crispy potato basket, with a ragda chickpea masala base, the item definitely is must order. It's not commonly found in London, so I was great to try the dish again. Other dishes like the Chicken Biryani, which I believe is Lucknowi style, and was wonderful. The Seekh Kebab were equally impressive and well-prepared with it's tender yet crispy flavour. The Dal Makhani and Chicken Lollipop also met expectations, rounding out a satisfying meal. Service was attentive, and the bustling atmosphere, with a steady stream of dine-in patrons and delivery pickups, speaks to the restaurant's quality and good word of mouth it has. For those in the area seeking standout Indian fare, Tokri is my recommended choice.

We used to visit this restaurant regularly and had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, recent visits have left us disappointed due to a noticeable decline in food quality. We decided to give it another go last Friday. We ordered three different chats, two of which were essentially just yoghurt, lacking any of the expected crunch or texture, and the third was a plate of watered-down dumplings. We didn’t eat any of the starters and made our concerns known to the waiter. The mains were not as tasty and fragrant as we had enjoyed before. Regrettably, our feedback was dismissed without any real acknowledgement. There was no effort to apologise or take our comments into account. It’s a real shame, as we live very nearby and used to enjoy coming here regularly.

Someone told us about this place, and honestly, we’re so glad we checked it out! The restaurant is super clean, the decor is lovely, and the service? Spot on. Nitin took great care of us and was really attentive. And the food—wow, just amazing, made fresh right there in the kitchen. This has got to be one of the best Indian curries we’ve had in ages. We’ll definitely be coming back!
